Dayspring Kids

Leading kids to Jesus during each phase of life.

We believe, at Dayspring Kids that every child is made in the image of God.  This shapes the way we structure our environment for our kids.  We believe that the Bible should come alive!  Every parent wants to know that his or her child is safe and has a place to belong. Our team provides a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Safety is a top priority here at Dayspring Kids.  We make sure that every volunteer serving around kids has met certain criteria:

  • Filled out an application
  • Background checked
  • Has been carefully trained
  • Agreed to maintain certain lifestyle according to the example of Jesus
  • Believes in the mission of Dayspring Kids

We use a number system for check-in and check-out.  When you check in your child, you will be given a name tag and a security code that is unique for your child that day.  The only way that a child can be picked up is with that security code.

We have kids environments during each of our services, and they are broken down according to age:

  • Early Childhood- Birth through 5 years old
  • Elementary- Kindergarten through 3rd grade
  • 45- 4th and 5th grade

Early childhood

Your preschool aged child loves to discover new things.  That is why we provide a learning environment that is fun, interactive, and engaging to learn about Jesus in an age specific way.   We want to partner with you to help build that foundation of faith with your child and to help them transition smoothly into the elementary age.

In this environment we want your child to learn and understand three key principals:

  • God made me
  • God loves me
  • God wants to be my best forever friend

What you need to know

  • Your child will have an age specific lesson that is geared around their developmental needs.  They will have plenty of time for play and interaction with other kids and our amazing volunteers.
  • Due to the nature of allergies we ask that you not bring in any food to the room.  Drinks should be limited to bottles or sippy cups.  They should only contain formula, breast milk, cow’s milk or water.
  • Crying does not bother us at all.  We understand that your child cares for you and every child reacts different to drop off.  Don’t be alarmed if your child cries at drop off and pick up.  We have volunteers that have been trained to care for your little one during this time.  If for some reason we are not able to calm your child, we will alert you with your security code, which flashes in service.
  • We have a nursing area for mothers with babies.
  • We care about the health of every child and ask that if your child has a fever of 99.8 or above, is vomiting, or has just started antibiotics within the past 24 hours; we ask that you don’t drop off your child that day.  We clean and disinfect our environment on a regular basis.

Elementary

This environment is geared towards kids in grades K-3rd.  We provide an environment that is high-energy large group, where the big idea and Bible story for the week is presented in a fun engaging way.  Once the idea is presented we then begin to unpack the idea in age specific small groups.

In this environment we want your child to understand three key principals:

  • I need to make the wise choice
  • I can trust God no matter what
  • I need to treat others the way that I want to be treated.

What you need to know:

  • You will drop off and pick up your child in their age specific small group.
  • During the service, we will follow the format of small group to large group, back to small group.
  • Large group is a time that your child will be presented the big idea for that week; along with a Bible story that enforces that idea.  Large group time is high-energy, fun and engagement with Bible stories, worship and fun.
  • Small group is a time that your child will have time to unpack the big idea that they learned in large group.  They will learn through different activities with children of the same age.   Our goal with small groups is to build relationships with kids and a constant volunteer each and every week.  It helps to build these relationships if your child attends the same service each week.  That consistency is important to building those relationships.
  • We like to have fun!  We think it is important for your child to learn through fun.  That is why we provide different activities for them to have fun and build relationships.  We want church to be a place that your child loves to come to each and every week.
  • We care about the health of every child and ask that if your child has a fever of 99.8 or above, is vomiting, or has just started antibiotics within the past 24 hours, we ask that you don’t drop off your child that day.  We clean and disinfect our environment on a regular basis.

45

This environment is geared towards your 4th and 5th grade student.  This is a time that kids start to feel like they are not quite a small child, but they are not quite a teenager.  That is why we feel it is important to have a separate environment.  We provide a large group/small group time that is designed specifically for their growing minds and the questions that they want to ask.

In this environment we want your child to understand three key principals.

  • I need to make the wise choice
  • I can trust God no matter what
  • I need to treat others the way that I want to be treated

Our goal with small groups is to build relationships with kids and a constant volunteer each and every week.  It helps to build these relationships if your child attends the same service each week.  That consistency is important to building those relationships.
